Feathered Rainbows - Rainbow Lorikeets (Print)

During pandemic lockdowns people all over the world were putting rainbows out as a symbol of hope and togetherness. It was the same in my neighbourhood of East Fremantle, in Western Australia. On my daily walks I would see kids art in front windows, chalked on the footpath, crocheted rainbows on gates and street trees and painted rainbow them on letterboxes. So many rainbows of hope. And when I looked up I could see the rainbow lorikeets carrying their rainbow with them. I loved this. There they were hanging out amongst the bright orange flowers of the Coral trees, flying off in happy flocks of rainbows whenever they wanted.

Over many, many hours of work these pretty birds, along with the flowers and tree trunk have all been individually drawn, painted, cut and carefully arranged onto the vibrant painted background. They sing a song of joy, of life renewing, nurture and the power of mother nature.

A limited number of fine art prints of this artwork are available on beautiful Hahnemuhle German Etching paper.
