Faithful Warrior — Original Watercolour
A captivating piece of ancient Chinese history, brought to life in watercolour.
In 2026, Western Australia had the rare opportunity to experience some of China’s extraordinary Terracotta Warriors, exhibited at the Western Australian Museum. Fascinated by the individuality of each warrior and the remarkable story behind this ancient army, Cate Rose was inspired to create this evocative original painting.
No two Terracotta Warriors are alike — each has its own distinctive features, expression and character. Faithful Warriorcaptures that sense of individuality through a moody, atmospheric watercolour, inviting you to look beyond the sculpture and imagine the people, history and centuries of stories behind it.
A striking work for anyone fascinated by Chinese history, ancient cultures, archaeology or expressive watercolour, this original artwork offers a contemporary artistic interpretation of one of the world's most extraordinary archaeological discoveries.
